OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Overview

Foster youth have enough programs!

strive for offers a youth-led mentorship experience that rests on the idea that a collective sense combined with numerous high quality relationships makes the difference in working with foster youth and the community to overcome the unfair struggles youth face.

strive for’s mentorship program is a flexible and customizable experience that serves San Francisco foster youth aged 14-17.

With this new model of mentorship, strive for seeks to create a safe and supportive environment in which youth work with one or more mentors but also have the chance to learn from their peers. The group setting creates a community of individuals that work with the youth to achieve their own dream. That is why the organization is strive for; we do not tell the youth what to strive for but instead provide a community in which they can seek to accomplish self-identified aspirations.

Specific Details

Young adults and mentors placed into strive for’s program make a 12 month commitment (with option to renew) to participate in bi-monthly 90 minute group mentoring sessions throughout the year and at least 4-6 hours of additional sessions each month.
